About the Artist

Picture
Rose Roccaforte intuitively hand builds energetic sculptural pieces out of clay, which try to reflect the diversity and exuberance of life. Her work is vivid, using contrasting textures and colours to enhance its sensory impact.
Influenced by the nature we live side by side with, birds and plantlife are prolific in her work. Also influenced by expressionistic art Roccaforte’s work has ‘a life to it’. She currently lives and teaches Ceramics in health contexts in Galway.
Roccaforte graduated from CCAM GMIT, with BA(Hons) in Fine Art Ceramics, and a Special Purpose Award from CIT Crawford in
Group Arts Facilitation.
She was born and raised in London, and Cork City. She is of Irish/Italian heritage.
